F O S S I L : S K Y M A P
This is a second iteration of the project, developed alongside the printed and cast pieces.
Since this project as a whole considers the importance of place and time, I felt it necessary to fold the project onto itself and to take on a specific location as a potential site for exploring other ways of using these images of maps.
This piece is made up of a projected, color animation of a map of North Bennington, where Bennington College is located. The space used for the projection is located on the campus, at the Center for the Advancement of Public Action (CAPA), in a room called the Lens. The Lens was designed with no intended purpose but serves as a vesatile space for just about anything.
The animation loop was set to a score of tracks by Wishbone's, "Jan Tapes" and was on view for an entire day, from sunset to sunset.
Special thanks for Jasper McMahon of Wishbone.
